As a Climate Data Scientist at Floodbase, you'll lead the development of satellite-driven flood detection and prediction models. Your research will power insurance and humanitarian tools used by global clients to mitigate flood-related losses.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze historical and real-time flood datasets using remote sensing
  2. Build and improve flood models that support insurance underwriting
  3. Validate models with ground-truth data and collaborate on peer-reviewed studies
  4. Translate scientific results into actionable formats for engineers and clients

Qualifications:

  1. Master's or Ph.D. in Earth Sciences, Hydrology, or Remote Sensing
  2. Proficient in Python (NumPy, Pandas, xarray), GIS tools, and Google Earth Engine
  3. Experience with flood modeling or water-related natural hazards is preferred
